Nonsense Language...
Update: 08-04-02: I do NOT believe "ordering language" should be "broken". This, I now believe is a VITAL AND CRITICAL coping mechanism for autistic children in that it allows them to make sense of their world and arrange what they have learned during the day. I will update this section as soon as possible. For more on the role of ordering language, I encourage all parents to first read my section on LANGUAGE. This section will show parents "Why It Isn't Nonsense At All... But Makes Perfect Sense... When Viewed From The Perspective Of The Autistic Child..."
This section has now been incorporated into the Language Section. My views on "nonsense language" have greatly changed since the writing of my first book, Saving Zachary: The Death And Rebirth Of A Family Coping With Autism. Please go to "Language" section for more on the role of "nonsense language and the autistic child".... or better yet, read the book I have written that deals specifically with language development in autism, Book 4, posted in full on this website! Once you read that book, you can not help but conclude that "nonsense language" as it was once called makes PERFECT sense and is critical to language development in these children! This book provides invaluable information for all parents who have a child experiencing language delays - truly incredible information!
BOOK 4 - Breaking The Code To Language And Communication: The Ultimate Puzzle For A Child With Autism!
